Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Jefferson County is offering a bus trip to Reiman Gardens in Ames, Iowa, on Saturday, February 7th, for participants to enjoy Orchid Fest.
The day will begin with a gathering at the Jefferson County fairgrounds, with the bus departing from the Extension Office at 7:30 a.m. The tour will make a brief stop in downtown Pella for a snack before continuing on to Ames. Visitors will have the morning and early afternoon to explore the stunning orchid displays, the Butterfly Wing, and other attractions at Reiman Gardens. Lunch from Hickory Park will be provided, along with a Q&A session with an Iowa State University horticulture specialist. On the return trip, the bus will stop at the Cheese House in Leithyn before arriving back at the Extension Office around 5:30 p.m.
The cost is $20 per person, which covers bus transportation, admission to Reiman Gardens, and lunch. Jefferson County 4-H members may attend for $10, and youth are welcome to join with an adult. Participants are responsible for any snacks along the way or personal purchases at the garden’s gift shop.
