Fairfield Girls Soccer Head Coach Alex Cardenas has resigned from his position, effective December 8th, 2025, according to Fairfield Activities Director Jeff Courtright.
Courtright confirmed the resignation, noting that Cardenas will no longer lead the Trojans’ girls soccer program moving forward.
In a statement addressing his departure, Cardenas said his decision came after careful thought and reflection. He expressed appreciation for the players and the opportunity to coach at Fairfield, while acknowledging differences in direction between his vision for the program and the current administrative approach.
“My decision was made after careful consideration,” Cardenas said. “I want to thank the players for their hard work and dedication during my time here. While I have valued the opportunity to coach the team, I have concluded that my approach to the soccer program and the level of support required to implement that vision are not aligned with the current administrative strategy. I wish the program all the best going forward.”
No information has been released regarding a timeline or process for hiring Fairfield’s next girls soccer head coach.
