Services for Haley Bishop, 45, of West Des Moines, will be held on November 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 9:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held following the service for everyone to further visit with family and friends.
Haley leaves behind a legacy too large to fit on paper, A true born caretaker and without an argument, the Best. Mom. Ever.
Haley grew up in Bloomfield, Iowa, where she enjoyed a beautiful childhood alongside her baby sister, Kirby. She was raised by her parents, Vernon and Cindy Neill, and was very close with her grandma who instilled in her values she carried throughout her life.
She went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa to earn her teaching degree. While academics can be taught, there is a level of care that cannot be learned. Haley had that. She was born with it- an extraordinary ability not only to make everyone feel cared for, but to truly care for every person she encountered. She carried this gift with her every day of her life.
Haley taught kindergarten and first grade at Eason Elementary and later in Frisco, Texas. The children she taught were blessed with the opportunity of a lifetime to be touched by her light.
When her mother passed away, Haley stepped into a motherly role for her sister, Kirby. She loved her deeply and guided her with a steady calm. Whether or not little sister always listened.
Her magnetic spirit showed itself fully the night she met her husband, Ryan Bishop. Haley pulled him right in, it was meant to be. Together they built a beautiful life and welcomed two perfect children, Case and Kylynn. Haley loved her babies fiercely- with an unwavering, intense yet soft devotion. She walked them to school every morning and was always waiting when they came home. She was a phenomenal cook, and the kids never once left the house hungry.
Haley also loved spending time outdoors. Whether walking with her children, enjoying the sunshine, or just appreciating a breezy day, she found happiness in nature.
Throughout her life there was never a stranger to Haley, she made sure of that. Her authenticity, and famous magnetic energy spread wherever she went. She didn’t just light up a room- she lit up the world. She was always out and about talking to people, checking on them, and offering the instinctive, wholehearted care she was known for.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Vernon and Cindy Neill, of Bloomfield.
Haley will be greatly missed by her husband, Ryan; their children, Case and Kylynn; a sister Kirby (Tony) Squire; nieces: Riley Sue and Sammie; in-laws, Mark and Donna Bishop; along with many extended family and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of Haley’s family to be designated to one of her many passions in life.
