Brady Tobias, a 19-year-old resident of Wapello, is facing serious legal consequences as he has been charged with 41 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, classified as Class D felonies. The charges were filed following a thorough investigation that revealed concerning material on his electronic devices. Tobias was initially arrested in May on three charges: grooming, distribution and exhibition of obscene material to a minor, and sexual exploitation of a minor with intent to engage in sexual acts. He pleaded not guilty to these initial allegations.

A preliminary hearing held last Friday has paved the way for Tobias’ arraignment, which is scheduled for October 24. This will allow him to respond formally to the latest charges brought against him. His jury trial for the original three charges is set for November 4, where he will face the court regarding those serious accusations.

Currently, Tobias remains in custody at the Louisa County jail, with bail set at $50,000.
