In a tragic and puzzling case, the death of 21-year-old Douglas James “DJ” Shondel II on March 11, 2001, in Fairfield, Iowa, has left friends and family searching for answers. Shondel was found unresponsive in the bathtub of his apartment by his pregnant girlfriend, Crystal Knight, who instead of immediately calling 911, decided to walk a block and a half to gather friends before returning to the scene.
