Marcia Jayne Kelly, 67, of Keosauqua, Iowa, passed away at her home on August 15, 2025.
Born on July 22, 1958, in Keosauqua, Iowa, Marcia was the daughter of the late Ralph Roscoe Canaday and Wilma Alvastine (Scotton) Canaday. She attended Van Buren Community Schools. Marcia found joy in the simple things — a quiet moment on her porch, watching birds and hummingbirds flutter by, and staying in touch with those she loved. Whether it was a heartfelt comment, a cheerful emoji, or a playful poke on Facebook, Marcia had a special way of making people feel seen and remembered. To her friends and family, she was more than just a presence online — she was a constant source of support. Many remember Marcia as someone who offered a listening ear during their darkest days, and in turn, they stood by her through her own struggles. Her warmth, her care, and her resilience left a lasting impact. We take comfort in knowing that Marcia’s soul is now at peace, reunited with Dustin and Carolyn. Though she may no longer be with us in person, we feel her watching over us — just as she always did, with quiet strength and a loving heart. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She is survived by her son, Joshua Kelly; her grandchildren Samantha, Summer, Mesa, Sheamis, Garrett, Jase, Aubrey and Evelyn; her twin brother, Michael (Teresa) Canaday of Stockport, Iowa; her sisters Sue (Ron) Fischer of Fairfield, Iowa and Judi (Gary) McCarty of Colorado Springs, Colorado and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her son Dustin Canaday; her sisters Donna Wilcoxson and Nancy Franklin; her brothers Robert Canaday, William Canaday and Richard King and her dear friend Carolyn Heaberlin.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Memorials can be sent to Michael Canaday, 419 S Main St, Stockport, IA 52651
