Police say an Ottumwa man repeatedly violated numerous no-contact orders and was arrested after a female victim found him in her bed as she was waking up.
44-year-old Shane Jarr was charged with second-degree burglary (Class C felony), stalking – violation of protective order (Class C felony), assault – fear of immediate contact (simple misdemeanor), and violation of protective order (simple misdemeanor).
On the morning of June 12th, officials say Jarr entered the victim’s home without permission. According to court documents, the juvenile victim woke up with Jarr sitting on her bed, approximately a foot away from her. Police say the victim screamed at Jarr, and he left the room.
Court filings allege Jarr refused to leave the house and was in the shower when police arrived. Jarr reportedly told officers that he knew he was not permitted to be in the home. The victim had five no-contact orders filed against Jarr.
Jarr was arrested and transported to the Wapello County Jail, where he is being held without bond pending a hearing with a magistrate judge.
