An Iowa man is behind bars after trying to meet who he thought was a 15-year-old girl at an Altoona hotel — only to be met by police instead.
Investigators say 61-year-old Steven Lester Davis sent explicit messages and images to someone he believed was a teen. He even booked a hotel room to meet up on May 15. But when he arrived, he was arrested by an undercover officer posing as the girl.
Davis is facing several charges, including sending obscene material to a minor, grooming, and drug possession. He’s being held on a $100,000 cash bond, with a court hearing set for May 27.
