Lottie Margaret Greene, 103, died at 3:24 p.m. on February 12, 2025 in Fontanelle, IA
Lottie was born on July 22, 1921 in Ottumwa Iowa to Emery and Minnie Rama Troxel. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1938.
She married Frank E. Greene Sept. 3, 1939. They had two children, Marvin and Barbara. During WWII she worked at Ryan Aircraft in San Diego, CA until Frank was drafted. She then returned to Ottumwa with her son Marvin to be closer to family and worked at John Deere.
Frank died December 27, 1970 after suffering from complications of injury sustained during WWII. She then married Clarence (Dean) Clark on June 10, 1978. He passed away on December 1, 1999. She and Frank were foster parents for the American Home Finding Association for several years and then House-parents at the Agency for about ten years before moving to Des Moines so Lottie could work at Iowa Methodist Hospital, where she retired in 1995 after 25 years in their medical records department.
Lottie loved spending time on Facebook and doing puzzles on the internet. She also loved a good game of marbles!
She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters who lived to be adults and two who died as infants, her parents, her son, Marvin Emery Greene, daughter, Barbara Jean Schnoor, grandson Daniel Greene and a very special former foster son, Bob Dunn.
Surviving are grandchildren: Phillip (Jennifer) Greene, Julie Montilla, Sara (John) Mitchell, Lisa (Kirk) Sullivan and Chris (Traci) Brown. Many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, four great-great-great grandchildren and many, many nieces & nephews.
Also surviving are Dean’s children Curtis (Judy), Danny (Laurel) and Lanny (Marva) and she was proud to be called Grandma Lottie by their Children and Grandchildren.
Her body has been cremated. Memorial visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday May 17th at Reece Funeral Home. Graveside services and inurnment will be at 4 p.m. at Shaul Cemetery.
