Ottumwa, IA – River Valley Place of Ottumwa invites the community to join in celebrating National Assisted Living Week® (NALW) with a special Car & Bike Show on Saturday, September 14, from 1 PM to 4 PM. The event will take place in the parking lot of River Valley Place of Ottumwa, located at 173 E Rochester Rd, Ottumwa, IA 52501.

At 2 PM, Mayor Rick Johnson will present a proclamation recognizing September 8-14 as National Assisted Living Week in the city of Ottumwa. This year’s theme, “Inspiring Generations,” aims to bring people of all ages together to share stories, appreciate vintage cars and bikes, and show support for our senior community.

“We are thrilled to host this event and to see the community come together to honor our seniors,” said Darian Johnson, Life Enrichment Coordinator at River Valley Place. “The Car & Bike Show is a wonderful opportunity for generations to connect, share stories, and celebrate the rich history and experiences of our residents.”

National Assisted Living WeekR was established in 1995 by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. This annual observance encourages communities around the country to offer events and activities that celebrate residents, staff, and volunteers.

People interested in participating in the Car & Bike Show should contact Darian Johnson, Life Enrichment Coordinator, at (641) 684-1871 for more information.
