A Lockridge woman was charged with domestic abuse assault Tuesday, March 31st following an incident reported to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 3:44 p.m.
Rebecca Carlson, 34, was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault — First Offense, a simple misdemeanor.
According to court documents, deputies responded to a call from the victim, who reported being assaulted by his spouse. Upon arrival, deputies observed fresh cuts on the victim’s face and chest. The victim stated the injuries were the result of Carlson hitting him and throwing various objects at him.
When speaking with deputies, Carlson acknowledged she got mad and began throwing objects around the house, but claimed the victim had choked her and that she was acting in self-defense, according to court records. Deputies noted that Carlson did not have injuries consistent with her account and determined she was the primary physical aggressor.
Carlson was released without bond. A no contact order has been requested in the case. A pretrial conference is scheduled for May 7th.
