Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Keokuk County, in partnership with the Keokuk County Expo, is hosting a free hands-on Rabbit Workshop for youth on Saturday, April 25th at 10 a.m. at the Keokuk County Extension Office in Sigourney.
The workshop, titled “Hop Smarter, Show Better,” is open to youth from kindergarten age and up, and a guardian must accompany any child in attendance. Whether participants are brand new to rabbits or gearing up for show season, the session is designed to provide practical tips and expert guidance. Topics covered will include showmanship, daily care, nutrition, tattooing, and more.
The workshop will be led by Rebecca Rust, who brings 45 years of experience breeding and showing ARBA open class rabbits locally and nationally. She is a member of ARBA, NMRCC, and ISRBA and has been mentoring Iowa 4-H exhibitors for the past 15 years.
The event will be held at the Keokuk County Extension and Outreach office at 400 220th Ave Suite A in Sigourney. RSVPs are requested by April 20th. To register or for more information, contact Taylor Zehr at 641-295-3419.
