Pekin, Fairfield, and Sigourney Students Selected for Individual All-State Speech Festival

Several students from Pekin, Fairfield, and Sigourney earned top honors at the Individual State Speech Contest, receiving All-State recognition and the opportunity to perform at the upcoming festival.

The Individual All-State Speech Festival will be held Monday, March 30th at the University of Northern Iowa, where selected students will showcase their performances among the state’s best.

From Pekin High School, Tatum Harbison was selected in Reviewing, Zoe Heisdorffer in Storytelling, and Brinley Phillips in Musical Theatre.

Fairfield High School will be represented by Bidhi Dangol in Reviewing and Jami Hames in Poetry. Bella Jaeger was also selected in Reviewing as a non-performing All-State honoree, recognizing her All-State caliber performance.

Sigourney High School’s Isaac Jones earned All-State selection in Reviewing.

Selection for All-State Speech represents one of the highest honors in Iowa high school speech, recognizing students whose performances rank among the top in their respective categories.
