An Ottumwa woman faces multiple charges after police say she assaulted her boyfriend and, in a separate incident, stole a package from a residence.

31-year-old Lluvia Espinoza Silva was charged with willful injury (Class D felony), domestic abuse assault (serious misdemeanor), and fifth-degree theft (simple misdemeanor).

According to court records, on March 19th around 10:30 PM, Espinoza Silva threw a glass bottle at her boyfriend’s head without reason. Police say the couple share a residence on East Woodland Avenue in Ottumwa and have been together for a year.

The alleged victim suffered a laceration to his cheek and redness, swelling, and bruising to his eye, according to the criminal complaint.

On March 20th at approximately 1:18 PM, Espinoza Silva allegedly stole a package from the porch of a home on the 900 block of North Court Street. Court records say the package was valued less than $300. Espinoza Silva was apprehended a short distance from the property, according to authorities.

Espinoza Silva was transported to the Wapello County Jail. Her bond was set at $6,000.

Espinoza Silva has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 30th and was ordered not to have any contact with the alleged domestic assault victim.
