Authorities in Monroe County are investigating a stabbing that left one person injured earlier this week.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report on Tuesday, March 10th at 7:20 PM of a stabbing. After securing the scene, authorities say an individual was transported to a hospital with injuries. The person’s status is unknown.
The sheriff’s office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Albia Police Department, and Monroe County Ambulance all responded to the scene.
Officials believe the stabbing was an insolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The incident remains under investigation.
