Logan Michael Hudson’s story is one of warmth, connection, and a life lived with a quiet but meaningful impact on the people around him. At 26 years old, Logan passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 1:32 PM while hiking at Garrison Rock—doing something that reflected his appreciation for time, place, and the simple moments in life.

Born on June 26 in Pella, Logan was the son of Chad Hudson and Teri Bankes Schulz. He spent his childhood growing up in Oskaloosa and Ottumwa, shaping the easygoing, kindhearted person so many came to know. A graduate of Oskaloosa High School, Logan carried with him a steady, genuine nature that made others feel comfortable in his presence.

In recent years, Logan made his home in Delta with his significant other, Ryann Stallard, her children, Alex Boatman and Shiloh Bechtel, and his future sister-in-law, Athena Stallard. Together, they built a life centered on family, laughter, and everyday moments that meant everything.

Logan found purpose in his work in the home healthcare field, where his compassion and patience made a difference in the lives of those he cared for. Helping others wasn’t just a job to him—it was something he did naturally.

Outside of work, Logan enjoyed connecting with friends through gaming. He was a proud member of the Xbox clan “Greater Imperium” and created his own Discord community called “Entropy,” where friendships were formed, laughter was shared, and his presence was deeply felt. Logan also connected with many people through the music they shared with each other, as well as sitting around a group and singing along with the songs they played together.

He leaves behind many who will continue to carry his memory forward, including his father, Chad Hudson(Shannon) of Delta; his mother, Teri Schulz (Joe) of Unionville; his honorary brother Devin Miller; his honorary sister Felicity Briggs; grandparents, Marla Myers, Bonnie and Wayne Smith, and Delbert Hudson;  as well as his aunts and uncles—Misty Briggs, Sam Bankes (Lindsey), Carrie Vogt (Kevin), and Truckee  Harris; step siblings Dallas Clubb and Nile Glandon and many cousins and friends who loved him dearly.

Logan was preceded in death by his grandfather Sam Bankes and his great grandmother Carol Myers.

A visitation with Logan’s family will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Cranston Family Funeral Home in Fairfield. Cremation will follow. A celebration of Logan’s life will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, beginning at 4:00 PM at the Muddy Dog Market and Grill in Unionville, located at 110 East Union Street, in Unionville Iowa continuing for as long as stories are shared and memories are honored.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in Logan’s memory may be made to a memorial to be designated later by his family and may be left at the funeral home, at the celebration of life, or mailed to the family in care of Cranston Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 189, Fairfield, IA 52556. Friends are also invited to leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.

Logan’s story is not defined by its length, but by the connections he made, the care he gave, his love for animals and the quiet, lasting mark he left on those who knew him
