A report of a young child walking alone in a roadway led to a police response and the discovery of a violation of a court-issued no-contact order.

On March 27 at approximately 3:35 p.m., the Knoxville Police Department was dispatched to the 100 block of North 4th Street after receiving a report of a 3- to 4-year-old child walking in the middle of the road.

According to court documents, officers located the child and safely returned the child to the residence, where the child’s father and mother were present and living together.

A criminal complaint states that dispatch later informed officers that the father and the child’s mother were subject to an active no-contact order, with the father listed as the defendant and the mother as the protected party.

Officers returned to the residence and confirmed that both individuals were present inside the home. The father was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Marion County Jail. He was later released.

Johnson is charged with violation of no contact/protective order-contempt, simple misdemeanor
