Kevin Francis Heffron, age 55, of Georgetown, IA passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Kevin was born on May 15, 1970, the son of Joseph and Kareen (McCarty) Heffron. He grew up attending school in Albia, graduating from Albia High School with the class of 1988. Following high school, Kevin attended Coe College. Kevin worked in banking in Wellsburg, Des Moines and First Iowa State Bank in Albia.
Kevin is survived by his daughter, Emma; mother, Kareen; sister-in-law, Carol and family members: Tammy Heffron, Brittaney Scieszinski, and Skylar Heffron. He is preceded in death by his father, John Joe Heffron, and brother, Joe Heffron. Kevin enjoyed community, watching his daughter play softball, and being the life of the party. He was a helper and a loyal friend. He enjoyed a good time that made for a good story. Kevin had a big smile and a loud laugh to go with it. Kevin’s biggest joy in life was being Emma’s dad.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia from 9-10:30 a.m., with a rosary conducted at 9:00 a.m., by St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society. A Mass of Christian Burial will also be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia with Father Isaac Essel and Deacon Ed Kamerick officiating. Intermit will follow the luncheon in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Georgetown.
Memorials have been established to St. Patrick’s Cemetery, St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society or Compassus Hospice in Iowa City.
