Judith Irene Johnson, 78, of Waukee, Iowa and former resident of Van Buren County, Iowa passed away on March 26, 2026 at UnityPoint Hospice – Taylor House in Des Moines. She was born on November 25, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois to Marvin Fredrick and Mary Marquerite Rogers Clark. She graduated from Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Illinois. On June 3, 1967 she married Richard Johnson in Knoxville.
Judy worked for the Department of Human Services in Van Buren County for many years, retiring in 2003. Judy and Richard took many wonderful trips on their Gold Wing motorcycle with family while living in Van Buren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Laurie Brinegar; son, Michael Johnson; two grandchildren, Shayleigh (Logan) McCoy, Traevyn Brinegar; three great-grandchildren, Grayson Lipp, Ayla McCoy, Holden McCoy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Zachary Thomas Brinegar, Jayedin Christian Brinegar; and three siblings, Kate Volbracht, JoAnn Clark, and Charlie Clark.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield with Travis Peel officiating. No visitation is planned.
