Evelyn Joan Boyd, 92, of Ottumwa died at 6:50 p.m. March 18, 2026 at River Valley Place.
She was born September 8, 1933 in Monroe County to John R. and Helen Wielard Johnson. She married Donald Leroy Boyd July 19, 1952 and he preceded her in death January 9, 2018.
Evelyn worked at the Red Lyon Inn, Ottumwa Transit and the Depot Deli.
She enjoyed making cookies, candy and decorating cakes for many people and occasions. Evelyn also enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Surviving are her 3 sons, Carl (Margaret) Boyd, Dan (Pat) Boyd and Lee Boyd all of Ottumwa; her daughter, Sue (Nate) Reiter of Ottumwa; 5 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dorothy Schaefer of Yorkville, IL and Linda (Denny) Paytes of Florida; 3 brothers, Fred (Maryann) Johnson of Massachusetts, Jim Johnson of Connecticut and John Johnson of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; great grandson, Connor Boyd; brother, Carl Johnson; infant brother, Richard; 2 sisters, Ruth Glasgow and Rose Bleything; infant sisters, Betty and Maryann; brother-in-law, Jack Schaefer; sister-in-law, Nettie Johnson.
Visitation will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday March 22nd at Reece Funeral Home with family present to greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday March 23rd at Reece Funeral Home. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
