On February 1st, at approximately 5:22 PM, multiple law enforcement agencies were dispatched to Casey’s General Store on Main Street in Fremont in response to a shooting incident.
Michael Lee, 45, of Fremont, is currently detained at the Mahaska County Jail on a cash-only bond of $500,000. He faces a charge of first-degree murder, a Class A felony, in connection with the shooting death of Davey Dyke, 45, of Rose Hill.
A preliminary hearing for Lee was scheduled for February 11th at 11:45 AM; however, at approximately 11:35 AM, Lee waived his preliminary hearing.
An arraignment for Lee will be scheduled within the next 45 days and will take place at the Mahaska County Courthouse.
