Richard Dean Malloy, 76 of Keokuk, IA passed away Monday, February 9, 2026 at his daughter’s home.
He was born February 4, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, IA the son of Marie Louise Buerklin. Richard graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1968.
A proud veteran, Richard honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he was employed by Griffin Wheel in Keokuk until his retirement.
On December 27, 1975, Richard was united marriage to Cassandra Link at Trinity Methodist Church in Keokuk. She survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Leslie Teeters of Keokuk and three grandsons, Quinton Banes, Marcus Banes and Ryan Banes and four great-grandchildren, Madison Mae Banes, Leightyn Marie Banes, Halleigh Dean Banes and Brynlee Mae Banes and a bonus great-granddaughters, Allison and Tranetta “T-One”.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Edward Peterson.
For thirty-five years, Richard was a dedicated volunteer with the City of Christmas, generously sharing his time and skills in welding and electrical work to bring joy to the community. He had a lifelong passion for working on cars, especially Corvettes and Nomads, and took great pride in restoring them.
A gathering of remembrance will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 12 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with family meeting with friends at that time.
Memorials may be made to the City of Christmas.
