Mark David Parsons, 50, of Albia died at 11:30 p.m. February 9, 2026 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
He was born June 1, 1975 in Iowa City to Norman Lee and Cynthia Hornback Parsons.
A 1993 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Mark earned a degree from Indian Hills Community College. He had worked as an avionic specialist.
Mark had attended Open Bible Church in Ottumwa. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, fishing, hiking and playing guitar. Mark was friends with everyone, he never knew a stranger.
Surviving is his mother, Cynthia Miller of Florida; a sister, Carey Parsons (Danny Gonzalez) of Florida; and his best friends, Rick Hornback and Johnny Hornback; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
His body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
