Knoxville Raceway is gearing up for the start of its 2026 racing season, and officials are kicking things off with a major incentive for fans. The green flag will drop on the 73rd annual Pella Motors / Kraig Ford Season Opener on Saturday, April 18, marking the first night of Knoxville Championship Series action for the year.
In a move aimed at celebrating longtime supporters and welcoming new fans, Knoxville Raceway announced that grandstand admission for the Season Opener will be free for one night only. The promotion is being made possible through a partnership with Pella Motors and Kraig Ford, with approval from the Marion County Fair Association.
Raceway General Manager Jason Reed said the decision reflects both appreciation for fans and a commitment to the future of the sport at Knoxville. He noted that opening the gates at no cost provides an opportunity for regular attendees to introduce friends and family to the track while showcasing the energy and tradition that define Knoxville Raceway.
Kraig Ford echoed that excitement, calling the event a meaningful way to give back to the racing community. A lifelong fan himself, Ford said he hopes the free admission night will help expand the fan base and ensure a strong start to the season.
The April 18 opener will feature all three weekly Knoxville Championship Series divisions, including 410 sprint cars, Randall Roofing 360 sprint cars, and Pro Sprints. Fans can expect to see top talent on the track, including reigning track champions Austin McCarl, Tasker Phillips, and J Kinder, along with defending Knoxville Nationals champion Ryan Timms.
Knoxville Raceway officials say they are looking forward to welcoming teams, fans, partners, and staff back for another season at the Sprint Car Capital of the World and encourage everyone to be part of the 2026 launch.
