The Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs has opened applications for participation in the annual Veterans Day Parade held during the Iowa State Fair.
The parade takes place on Veterans Day at the Fair, which is always scheduled for the only Monday of the event—typically the second Monday in August. This year’s parade will follow the traditional route along the main concourse south of the Grandstand at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
All Iowa veterans and veteran supporters are invited to take part, with special encouragement extended to Vietnam Veterans. The parade theme will be announced once it is finalized.
Entry applications are available on the IDVA website at dva.iowa.gov. A direct link to the application can be found in an alert banner at the top of the department’s homepage and throughout the site. Interested groups may complete the application online or download it directly from the website.
The deadline to submit parade entry applications is August 1.
