Jefferson County Conservation invites the public to experience the sounds of nature after dark during a special owl-themed program on February 20 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Nature Center, located at 2003 Libertyville Road in Fairfield.

With owl nesting season underway, participants may hear the calls of local species as they pair up for the season. The program will begin indoors with an introduction to common owl calls heard in the area, along with an opportunity for attendees to practice identifying and mimicking them. Following the presentation, guests will head outside for a short guided night hike to listen for owls in their natural habitat.

Organizers recommend dressing warmly and wearing appropriate footwear for outdoor conditions.
