Elaine Lucille Tolle, 80, of Hedrick died at 8:27 p.m. February 10, 2026 at her home.
She was born April 13, 1945 in Ottumwa to Loren Loos and Lucille Elizabeth Johnson Lowenberg. Elaine married Stephen Glen Tolle on August 7, 1971.
A 1963 graduate of Pekin High School, Elaine earned a bachelor’s degree from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. She taught for 5 years at Wellman Mid-Prairie. After her family was raised, Elaine taught physical education for 20 years for Pekin Schools.
Elaine was a member of Union Chapel, east of Fremont, for over 30 years where she taught Sunday school. She was currently a member of Gateway Nazarene Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes. Elaine loved sports, being outdoors and attending all her grandchildren’s events. Most importantly, she loved the Lord and wanted others to know his love as well.
Surviving is her husband, Stephen; their children, Jason (Alisa) Tolle of Richland, Josh (Hollee) Tolle of Montour and Sarah (Chris) Becker of Ottumwa; 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth Tolle (Andrew Gambell), Dominique Tolle (Greg Ford), Cassidy Tolle (Braedyn Baylor), Makayla Tolle, Raegan Tolle, Landon Becker and Emma Becker; 7 great grandchildren, Carlie, Carter, Calvin, Avery, Rylan, Benton, Parker and one on the way. siblings, Stephen (Mary) Lowenberg of Oskaloosa, Alan (Sharon) Lowenberg of Moulton, Dwight (Ruth) Lowenberg of Hedrick, Kathleen (Bill) Hornback of Ottumwa, Mary (John) Gillam of Ollie, Lisa Doud of Ottumwa and Jane (Mark) Glick of Hedrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday February 15th at Reece Funeral Home with family present to greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday February 16th at Gateway Nazarene Church in Oskaloosa with Pastor Andy Watts and Pastor Jim Eschenbrenner officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Private inurnment will be in Deuser Cemetery.
