Donna Mae Nixon, 86, of Ottumwa died at 6:50 a.m. February 2, 2026 at Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa.
She was born June 26, 1939 in Eldon to Edward Lewis and Iva Bernice Allman Chichester. Donna married Jerry “Lester” Brezina in 1957 and he preceded her in death September 1959. She married Carver Nixon in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1989.
A 1957 graduate of Tama High School, Donna worked as a manager at a bookstore, retiring in 2005.
She was a member of East End Pentecostal Church of God. Donna was a member of an art club where she did paintings, her grandson nicknamed them the “Chalkboard Ladies”. She enjoyed music and singing. Donna led the worship music and was the choir director, she was also a Sunday school teacher. Donna also enjoyed reading, traveling and especially spending time with her family.
Surviving is her daughter, Deb (Bob) Beauchemin of Lake St. Louis, MO; 1 grandson, Robert; siblings, Ralph Chichester and Terry Chichester both of Ottumwa; several nieces and nephews including, Tina Forbes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Allman, Ernest Chichester, Earl Chichester and Richard Chichester; sisters, Betty Caylor, Bertha Downing and Judy Anderson.
Her body has been cremated and a time to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Ottumwa Cemetery at a later date.
