To the Citizens of Wapello County:
Iowa’s prison system utilizes indeterminate sentences, meaning inmates may be paroled before completing their full sentence. The County Attorney’s Office lacks authority over release decisions, which fall under the jurisdiction of the Board of Parole. In December, notifications were issued regarding inmates being released to Wapello County. So that citizens may be informed, below are the details of these notifications, including approximate time served prior to release.

  1. D.G. was sentenced to 25 years, paroled in 6 years, revoked with new charges, discharged in 1
    year and 10 months.*
  2. M.D. was sentenced to 15 years and paroled in 1 year and 6 months.*
  3. J.K. sentenced to 36 years, paroled in 1 year and 7 months.
  4. B.W. was sentenced to 10 years and paroled in 3 years and 4 months*.
  5. J.S. was sentenced to 15 years, paroled in 1 year and 5 months.
  6. F.M. was sentenced to 10 years, paroled in 3 years 5 months.*
  7. M.R. special sentence was revoked and served 2 years and placed back on the special sentence.
