The Emmber Lane plant processes ground beef and value-added beef products for retail and foodservice users.
Cargill filed the required notice of upcoming layoffs with the State of Wisconsin this week. The closure will result in the loss of more than 220 jobs. The plant is set to shutter on May 31st.
The facility’s closure will not impact daily cattle slaughter capacity.
