A 19-year-old Brighton man was killed Sunday morning, February 8th, in a single-vehicle accident on a rural Jefferson County road.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Ole A. Olson died at the scene following a crash at 1412 Germanville Road in rural Brighton. The exact time of the accident has not been released.
The State Patrol crash report indicates that Olson was driving a 1990 Ford Mustang northbound on Germanville Road when, for reasons still unknown, the vehicle went out of control and struck an embankment.
Olson was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Despite the safety restraint, he sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Multiple agencies assisted at the scene.
