Thomas James Taggart, 94, of Fairfield, IA passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at the Jefferson County Health Care Center.
Funeral Mass honoring his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, IA with Father Ross Epping officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield immediately following. Memorial contributions in Tom’s honor may be directed to the St. Joseph’s Indian School. Tom was a man who was proud of his faith and proud of his service to his country. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge he became an airline mechanic for commercial airlines, retiring at the age of 80. He leaves behind his family and his many friends.
