The Trump Administration has named Starlyn Perdue as Iowa’s new State Executive Director (SED) for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA).

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the newly appointed USDA state leaders will play an important role in advancing President Trump’s America First priorities in rural communities. She emphasized that strong farming communities are essential to the nation’s overall success and said she looks forward to the work these directors will do to refocus the agency on putting farmers first.

FSA Administrator Bill Beam also highlighted the importance of the position, noting that State Executive Directors are critical to carrying out USDA programs at the state level. Beam said the agency’s mission is centered on meeting the needs of local agricultural producers and supporting rural communities, adding that the new state leaders bring valuable experience that will help shape the future of agriculture in their respective states.

Perdue comes from a fifth-generation Century Farm family in southwest Iowa, where she and her husband are raising their two sons. She brings experience in economic development, agricultural advocacy, and program administration. Throughout her career, Perdue has focused on strengthening rural economies through workforce development and business growth, and she remains closely connected to Iowa’s agricultural community. She has been a consistent supporter of initiatives aimed at helping farmers and bolstering rural America.

In her role as State Executive Director, Perdue will oversee the administration of FSA programs across Iowa. These programs include commodity support, conservation efforts, credit services, and disaster assistance, all of which are designed to ensure a safe, affordable, and reliable supply of food, fiber, and fuel for Americans.

The Farm Service Agency works with farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners to help them protect, improve, and expand their operations. FSA administers agricultural policy, manages loan and credit programs, and oversees conservation, commodity, disaster recovery, and marketing initiatives through a nationwide network of state and county offices and locally elected county committees.
