Police say a dispute at a local home ended with a broken window and an arrest for contempt of a no contact order.

On January 13 at approximately 7:04 p.m., the Ottumwa Police Department responded to the 400 block of Hamilton Street following a report of a violation of a no contact order.

Upon arrival, officers found Kandi Arnold, 42, of Ottumwa, at the residence of the protected party. According to the police complaint, the victim asked Arnold to leave, after which Arnold allegedly threw an object at a double-pane window on the north side of the residence, shattering one of the panes. The estimated cost of repair is approximately $400. A witness at the scene observed the incident.

Authorities noted that Arnold had spent the night at the residence despite a valid no contact order being in effect. A warrant for her arrest was served on January 13. Arnold is currently being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $500 cash/surety bond.

She is charged with violation of a no contact/protective order (contempt), a simple misdemeanor, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a serious misdemeanor. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 28.
