Courtney Burkhalter of Jefferson County was recognized as a graduate of Iowa Farm Bureau Federation’s Ag Leaders Institute during the organization’s 107th annual meeting held December 9-10 in Des Moines.
The Ag Leaders Institute is a year-long training program designed for emerging county Farm Bureau leaders. Through working sessions, participants develop skills to become effective community members, volunteers, advocates, or elected officials.
“Graduates of the Ag Leaders Institute play a vital role in shaping agriculture in their local communities and positively influencing state and national policy,” said Brent Johnson, Iowa Farm Bureau president. “We look forward to seeing them use their leadership skills to advocate for farmers and ensure a strong future for Iowa agriculture.”
To date, the Ag Leaders Institute has recognized more than 500 graduates since its inception. The program aims to develop the next generation of agricultural leaders who will advocate for farmers and rural communities at the local, state, and national levels.
Burkhalter joins a growing network of Iowa agricultural leaders committed to supporting and advancing the interests of farmers across the state.
