Iowa National Guard to Deliver 2026 Condition of the Guard Address

On Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM, Major General Stephen Osborn, Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard, will deliver the annual Condition of the Guard Address at the Iowa State Capitol. This highly anticipated event provides a comprehensive
overview of the Iowa National Guard’s readiness, accomplishments, and strategic priorities for the year ahead.


The address, presented to Iowa state legislators and other key stakeholders, will highlight the Guard’s ongoing efforts to safeguard Iowa communities, support national defense missions, and enhance their capabilities in an ever-evolving security landscape. Major General Osborn will discuss the Guard’s significant achievements in 2025, its contributions to both domestic and international missions, and plans for future operations. Major General Osborn will also recognize extraordinary individuals who represent the Iowa National Guard and the Iowa Department of Public Defense.


Additionally, Major General Osborn will highlight the Guard’s long-standing and impactful relationship with the Republic of Kosovo and the Kosovo Security Force through the National Guard’s State Partnership Program with special guests Chief of Consular Mission, the Honorable
Drilon Zogaj, Command Sergeant Major Bedri Zuka, and the 4th Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari.


For the broader public, the address will be broadcast live on Iowa Public Television.
