The Alzheimer’s Association Iowa Chapter is offering a free virtual education series throughout the first six months of 2026 to help families facing Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. The programs help families better understand what to expect so they can be prepared to meet the changes ahead, including changes in communication and behaviors, discussing dementia as a family and planning ahead for future financial and legal considerations.
The series will begin on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. via Zoom and continue each Thursday from January 8 – March 19 and monthly in April – June. The first part of the series will focus on a new, 5-part series from the Alzheimer’s Association called The Empowered Caregiver. These programs teach caregivers how to navigate the responsibilities of caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s or dementia through the different stages of the disease.
