Fairfield Girls & Boys Bowling Sweep Burlington in Home Meet

The Fairfield girls and boys bowling teams hosted Burlington on Monday, January 12th, with both Trojan squads earning decisive victories in the dual meet.

Girls Results

The Fairfield girls rolled to a match total of 2,122, outscoring Burlington’s 1,849. Emma Cass led the Trojans with a 366 series, posting games of 178 and 188. Autumn Rose-McBride added a 295 series with games of 141 and 154, while Emma Forrest contributed 248 (100, 148). Savannah Garretson rolled a 230 series (105, 125), Braezyn Stutzman finished with 229 (108, 121), and Brooklyn Gridley added 169 (87, 82).

After dropping the low series, Fairfield recorded a round one total of 1,368. In the Baker portion, the Trojans rolled games of 136, 163, 132, 167, and 156 for a 754 total. Burlington posted 1,292 in round one and 557 in Baker games.

Boys Results

The Fairfield boys also claimed a win, finishing with a 2,512–2,254 victory. Henry Swan led all bowlers with a 373 series (175, 198), followed by Blake Ballew with 334 (123, 211) and Dayson Workman with 321 (150, 171). Corbin Starr rolled 317 (114, 203), Eli Aplara 314 (167, 147), and Aaron Carlson 279 (117, 162).

Fairfield posted a round one total of 1,659 after dropping the low series. In the Baker round, the Trojans rolled 179, 176, 159, 180, and 159 for an 853 total. Burlington totaled 1,516 in round one and 738 in Baker games.

Coach’s Perspective

Head coach Melinda Chatfield was very pleased with the results. She noted improvements in spare shooting and personal bests for several players. “I’m very happy with the meet results today. Everyone did a great job. We saw improvements on adjusting and making our spare shots, and we saw some personal bests again today,” Chatfield said.

Looking Ahead

Fairfield will stay home for a dual meet against Davis County on Thursday, January 15th, beginning at 2 p.m.

Previous Meet Recap

The Trojan teams opened the season at Burlington on December 5th, with the boys narrowly edging out the Grayhounds 2,563–2,548. Dayson Workman broke the school record with a 512 series (234, 278), while Blake Ballew rolled a 334 series and Henry Swan totaled 304. The girls fell 1,571–1,548 in their season opener, led by Autumn Rose-McBride’s 242 series and Emma Cass’s 237 series.
