Anne Marie Augustine, 72, of Agency died at 12:18 a.m. January 19, 2026 at Bloomfield Care Center after a 3 month stay at University of Iowa Hospitals and a very courageous battle.
She was born September 1, 1953 in Ottumwa to Donald Ray and Bonita Joyce Napier Scharff. She married Michael Allan Augustine July 23, 2004, although they had been together 36 years.
A 1971 graduate of Pekin High School, she earned a degree in laser technology from Indian Hills Community College in 1993. Anne worked for Principal Financial Group, World Com and from 1998 to 2006 at Interpower Corporation in Oskaloosa.
She had been a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and currently attended First Presbyterian Church.
Anne enjoyed crafts, hand making cards, gardening, sewing and taking on home remodeling projects.
Surviving is her husband, Michael; her children, Marc (Courtney) of Aurora, CO and Angela of Parker, CO; 2 grandchildren, Hayden of New York and Levi of Aurora, CO; 2 brothers, Ed Scharff and John (Carolyn) Scharff; and 2 sisters, Cora Lea (Tom) Bell and Joyce (John) Van Dyke.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Leila Scharff.
Visitation will be open after 11 a.m. Thursday January 22nd at Reece Funeral Home with her family present from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday January 23rd at Reece Funeral Home with Larry Smith officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
