Tycene Lynn Phillips, 55, of Ottumwa died at 6:25 a.m. December 19, 2025 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born August 16, 1970 in Ottumwa to Gary D. Phillips and Karen F. Brewer.
A 1989 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Tycene graduated from Buena Vista University with a degree in sociology. She currently was working for First Resources in Ottumwa.
Tycene enjoyed shopping, gardening and crocheting.
Surviving is her daughter, Katie (Rusty) Landers of Oskaloosa; grandchildren, Hayden, Hailey and Addison; a sister, Tova Hubler of Shell Rock; step-brother, Chuck Bean; nephews, Justin (Angela) Mather, Jeremy (Kristina) Mather; great nephews and niece, Kyeson, Quinn and Callum; her father, Gary Phillips; step-father, Charlie Bean; and an aunt, Sue (Amos) Wieneke.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Her body has been cremated. Visitation with family present to greet friends will be 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday December 27th at Reece Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Private inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
