A local resident was recently arrested after violating a protective order, prompting law enforcement to take action.

On December 18th, at approximately 6:53 PM, the Ottumwa Police Department executed an active arrest warrant at a residence on the 500 block of Maple Avenue. Angela Baker, a 57-year-old resident of Ottumwa, was apprehended following the violation of a no contact order that had been issued on October 29th for the same address.

According to court documents, Baker admitted to authorities that she had been residing at the listed address and had ongoing contact with the protected party, which directly contravened the order. As a result, she was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Wapello County Jail on a cash/surety bond of $300.

Baker faces charges of contempt for violating the no contact order, classified as a simple misdemeanor. A pretrial conference is scheduled for January 9th.
