Fairfield Bowling Splits Home Match with Mount Pleasant

The Fairfield bowling teams hosted Mount Pleasant on Monday, December 15th with the Trojans earning a split in the home matchup. Fairfield’s girls team came up just short in a tightly contested meet, falling 1924–1906, while the boys squad delivered a dominant performance in a 2530–2292 victory.

Girls Match Recap

Fairfield’s girls competed with a limited lineup, bowling with five athletes due to Savannah Garretson bowling JV. Despite the short roster, the Trojans remained competitive throughout the match and were within reach of a win late into Baker play.

In the individual games, Autumn Rose McBride led Fairfield with scores of 167 and 147 for a 314 series, bowling well above her practice average of 125. Braezyn Stutzman followed with games of 133 and 109 for a 242 series, also outperforming her average of 99. Emma Cass posted a 257 series with games of 121 and 136, while Brooklyn Gridley finished with a 205 series after rolling games of 112 and 93. Emma Forrest rounded out the lineup with scores of 90 and 142 for a 232 series.

Fairfield totaled 1,250 pins in the opening round, with no low series dropped due to having only five bowlers. In Baker competition, the Trojans rolled games of 142, 128, 107, 174, and 105 for a Baker total of 656. That brought Fairfield’s final match score to 1,906.

Mount Pleasant edged Fairfield by posting a 1,269 total in the individual round and Baker games of 128, 121, 104, 115, and 187, finishing with a match total of 1,924.

Head coach Melinda Chatfield said Fairfield held a lead after the fourth Baker game but was unable to maintain it in the final frame.

Boys Match Recap

The Fairfield boys delivered a strong showing across the board, combining high individual series with steady Baker performances.

Blake Ballew led the Trojans with games of 161 and 239 for a 400 series. Henry Swan followed with a 386 series after rolling games of 189 and 197, both well above his 162 average. Corbin Starr added a 340 series with games of 173 and 167, exceeding his 142 average, while Aaron Carlson contributed a 329 series with games of 164 and 155, topping his 134 average. Eli Aplara rolled games of 140 and 172 for a 312 series, and Dayson Workman added 321 with scores of 198 and 123.

Fairfield posted a 1,766 total in the opening round, dropping the low series of 312. In Baker play, the Trojans stayed consistent with games of 153, 151, 147, 164, and 149 for a total of 764, finishing the match with 2,530 pins.

Mount Pleasant recorded a 1,623 individual round total and added 669 pins in Baker play, closing the match at 2,292.

Coach’s Perspective

Coach Melinda Chatfield praised several standout efforts, noting that Autumn Rose McBride bowled both games above her average, while Blake Ballew’s 239 game and strong series from Henry Swan anchored the boys’ performance. Chatfield also said the meet provided a valuable opportunity for athletes to grow, both competitively and in sportsmanship.
