City of Ottumwa closures and service changes for the week of the Thanksgiving holiday include:
-City of Ottumwa departments and offices at City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
-Weekly curbside trash and recycling collection dates inside city limits are not affected by the holiday. Rural trash and recycling customers normally collected Thursdays will be collected on Tuesday, November 25 the week of Thanksgiving.
-Thursday yard waste and bulky item collection (north of the Des Moines River) will be moved up to Tuesday, November 25 the week of the holiday only. Customers needing yard waste or bulky item pick up need to call Bridge City Sanitation before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24 for collection.
-The Ottumwa/Wapello County Landfill and Recycling Center will be closed Thursday, November 27. The Landfill and Recycling Center will be open regular hours Friday, November 28 (7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and Saturday, November 29 (7:00 a.m. to noon).
-The Ottumwa, Calvary, and Jewish Cemetery Office at 1302 North Court Street will be closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28.
-The Ottumwa Public Library will be closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28. The Library will be open regular hours on Saturday, November 29 (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
-Ottumwa Water and Hydro offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28.
-The Beach Ottumwa will be closed on Thursday, November 27. On Friday, November 28 lap swim will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and water aerobics will begin at 5:30 p.m.
