Enzo de Almeida found the back of the net twice and the Indian Hills’ defense was able to hang on after a late Cowley goal to win 2-1 in an NJCAA Division I National Semifinal.
The Warriors will seek their first ever men’s soccer national title on Saturday at 2:00 PM versus Daytona State.
Almeida opened the scoring just over 11 minutes into the game by delivering a strike just outside of the penalty box that beat the Cowley goalkeeper for a 1-0 advantage.
Almeida doubled the Warrior lead almost nine minutes later as he gathered a loose ball in the box and rifled a right-footed shot over the outstretched goalkeeper.
Cowley scored with just over seven minutes to play but Indian Hills were able to prevent Cowley from scoring the equalizer to win the semifinal.
Fabian Arroyo and Joseph Redmond each had an assist.
