A 21-year-old Fairfield woman has been charged with domestic abuse assault following an incident at a residence on Sunday.
Anique Steege faces 1 count of Domestic Abuse Assault – 1st Offense, a simple misdemeanor, stemming from an incident that occurred on September 14th.
Officers responded to a report of an assault on Sunday after receiving a 911 call from the residence. During the emergency call, police could reportedly hear the Steege breaking down a door inside the home, with the victim stating that Steege had forced entry through the door.
According to the police report, the victim told officers that Steege had assaulted him by pushing him and placing her hands on or around his neck area. When officers examined the victim, they observed light red marks around his collar bone area consistent with the alleged assault.
The incident involved individuals in a domestic relationship, as Steege and the victim reside together.
