Liberty Students Selected for Prestigious Honor Bands

Students from Liberty Intermediate School will proudly represent the Ottumwa Band program at
two upcoming honor band events, showcasing their musical talent and dedication.
On April 12th, select students will travel to Centerville to participate in the Himie Voxman
Elementary Honor Band, an event recognizing outstanding 1st and 2nd-year band players.
These students will rehearse with fellow musicians and conclude the day with a concert at 3:30
PM in the Centerville High School Auditorium.
Representing the Novice Band:
● Alexis Pierson (Flute)
● Kristina Robert (Flute)
● Rauha Saaranen (Clarinet)
● Connie Alarcon-Hernandez (Clarinet)
● Praise Jetnil (Clarinet)
Representing the Advanced 6th-grade Band:
● Lillyian Jimenez (Flute)
● Arianna Wharton (Alto Saxophone)
● Orion Marsh (Tenor Saxophone)
● Kayleigh Wanner (Trumpet)
● Miles Ackerman (Trombone)
● Kannon Stein (Euphonium)
Later in the month, on April 26th, Charles Smith (Trumpet) will travel to Iowa City West High
School to participate in the SEIBA Elementary Honor Band. He will spend the day rehearsing
with other talented musicians, culminating in a performance in the Iowa City West High School
Auditorium.
These students have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their musical growth and will
serve as outstanding representatives of the Ottumwa Band program. We commend their hard
work and dedication to excellence!
