Beverly Ann Phillips, 88, of Ottumwa, died at 1:15 p.m. June 18, 2024 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
She was born April 15, 1936 in Ottumwa to Adam Joseph and Arie LaRue Holton Collier.
Beverly’s career at Thomas Vet Clinic was a significant part of her life and she was a dedicated employee for many years, where she found joy in helping animals. She had a passion for gardening, especially tending to her flowers, and her green thumb led to many blue ribbons for her prize-winning tomatoes. Beverly loved her country life and lived on her farm for over 60 years. She was known for her kindness and thoughtfulness.
Surviving is her daughter, Kris (Mike) O’Malley of Ottumwa; several grandchildren including a granddaughter, Mary Kay Miller and great-grandson, Ravon Box both of Estes Park, CO; nieces, Pamela Johnson of Arizona City, AZ, Terry Collier Pratt Hunter, Lisa Collier Dykstra of Des Moines; and great-niece, Crystal Carlberg of Bloomfield; great-granddaughters, Nevaeh Elizabeth Miller, Victoria Ann Miller, Evelyn Mae Miller of Estes Park, CO; and great-great-grandson, Elliot Asher Box of Estes Park, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Kevin Phillips and Kerry Phillips; brothers, John Collier and Kenny Ross; and sisters, Barbara Johnson, Maxine Martin, Linda Poole, Carolyn Morris, Janice Ross and Dage Stuhr.
Private burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. A time to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
