An Illinois man faces human trafficking and other charges after allegedly making arrangements to have sex with an underage girl in an Ottumwa hotel.
40-year-old Anthony Alan Anderson of Rockford, Illinois has been charged with human trafficking of a minor, a Class A felony, and four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a Class B felony.
On September 22, 2023, court records say Anderson traveled from Illinois and purchased services that involved what authorities described as “commercial sexual activity” with a 15-year-old girl in a hotel room. While in the room, Anderson allegedly took multiple photos depicting the nudity of the child.
A warrant for Anderson’s arrest was issued on May 9 and he was taken into custody on May 17.
Anderson is currently lodged in the Wapello County Jail. His bail has been set at $100,000.
