An Ottumwa man is listed in critical condition at University of Iowa Hospitals followwing an assault in Ottumwa early Sunday morning.
Ottumwa Police say shortly before 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning officers responded to an incident at the Elbow Room at 303 East Main Street. Upon their arrival officers found Maekele Hagoes laying on the sidewalk and was unresponsive. Because of the nature of his injuries Hagos was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa Cityand is listed in critical condition.
Witness to the assault say 30 year old Kendrick L. Jackson of Ottumwa was involved in the assault. A short time later he was arrested at his home at 608 North Fellows. Jackson has been charged with Willful Injury . He is being held in the Wapello County Jail on a 25-thousand dollar cash only bond.
