Warren Edward Voelliger, 77, of Ottumwa, died at 9:32 a.m. February 24, 2023 at home.

He was born March 9, 1945 in Davenport, IA to Paul and Dorothy Bach Voelliger. He married Cheryl Lynne Triplett June 15, 1968.

A graduate of Bettendorf High School, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Iowa State University. Warren worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works for a year before attending University of Northern Iowa earning his MBA. He returned to Ottumwa, working his entire career for John Deere Ottumwa Works, where he retired in December of 2001.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Warren enjoyed baseball and was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. Even more than the White Sox, he loved supporting his children and grandchildren in all of their events, sporting or otherwise.

Surviving is his wife, Cheryl; their three children, Erin Voelliger (Brad Peterson) of Marathon, FL; Amy (Matthew) Deppe of Red Wing, MN; Mark (Jennifer) Voelliger of Ottumwa; 9 grandchildren, Zoe Voelliger, Emma Peterson, Jonah, Anna, Trevor and Eva Deppe, Trey, Bryn and Remi Voelliger; along with other members of his extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marlene Voelliger and a brother, Norman Voelliger.

Visitation will be open after 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2nd at Reece Funeral Home with his family present to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 3rd at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be in Ottumwa Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Ottumwa Little League.
